Frederic Savart Le Mesnil "Haute Couture" 2019 (Deg 2024) MG
The 2019 Le Mesnil-sur-Oger Haute Couture, tasted from magnum, was vinified in 350- and 500-liter barrels (25% new, the remainder seeing one wine) and disgorged in December 2024 with a dosage of two grams per liter. As usual, it derives from two to three parcels, which vary each year, using fruit sourced from Pertois-Moriset, though Savart collaborates on the harvest date despite not farming the vineyards. In the glass, it reveals an enticing bouquet of white flowers, peach, yellow apple and brioche. Full-bodied, concentrated and elegantly muscular, with notable intensity, it offers a more seamless and layered profile than the 2020 vintage, showcasing the vintage’s strengths in all their glory.
